SURF SELECT PROGRAM

The Surf Select program brings together the most talented players and coaches from all of Surf Nation to compete together under the Surf banner at the highest levels. Through a series of regional and national events, players within Surf Nation, will be selected to represent Surf Select in national and international competitions.

SURF SELECT REGIONAL TEAM

Washington East Surf SC is part of Northwest region which includes Glacier Surf, Idaho Surf, Missoula Surf, Montana Surf, Oregon Surf, and Western Washington Surf.

SURF SELECT NATIONAL TEAM

The top players from each Surf Select Regional Teams will represent their regions and attend the Surf Select National ID Camp. There will be representation from all 46 Surf clubs across United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. Players selected to represent Surf Select National teams will compete in the top National and International events. Surf Select National teams have competed in Spain, England, Northern Ireland, and California just to name a few...

HOW DOES THE SELECTION PROCESS WORK?

Players go through a selection process

Players are identified through a selection process, beginning with evaluations by club directors. Based on technical skills, attitude, and potential, among other attributes, directors make formal player recommendations. Selected players then receive invitations to attend the Surf Select NW Regional Tryouts for the 2025–2026 season.

Players attend the NW Regional ID camp

Players from each of the seven clubs who attend the NW Regional ID Camp will undergo further evaluation and identification by the Surf Select NW Regional Staff.

National Identification Process

Top players identified to represent NW Region will participate in the following events:

  • U9-U10 players identified will attend the National ID camp in February 2026

  • U12-U13 players identified will create NW regional teams to compete in the Surf Select Regional Cup against other regional Teams

  • Top U14 teams of each club will compete in Champions League in San Diego in February (This age group need not attend the ID Camp)

  • U15-U17: High School age groups do not attend the NW Regional ID Camp. They will be nominated by the club directors and advance directly to the West Coast ID Camp in San Diego.
